As it does each year, CEHS is now accepting proposals for panel sponsorship of the coming year’s AHA annual meeting, which will take place from January 7-10, 2027 in New Orleans. Two possibilities exist: sole- and co-sponsorship. In the first case, CEHS uses its status as an affiliate society to place sessions on the program that were not been accepted by the AHA’s program committee (including sessions that had never been submitted to the AHA). In the second, the CEHS adds its name as a sponsor to sessions accepted by the AHA’s program committee. Note: the deadline for submitting sponsorship proposals is May 20, 2026.
Proposals for sole-sponsorship:
- If the panel was submitted to the AHA’s program committee (but not accepted), you may just email CEHS a copy of the final AHA panel proposal.
- If the panel was not submitted to the AHA’s program committee, you will need to submit to CEHS a complete panel proposal. This includes the following elements: a) a list of all panel participants (including their institutional affiliations and email addresses), b) a session abstract, and c) abstracts for all papers.
- Sessions sponsored by CEHS must also respect the AHA’s guidelines for sessions at the annual meeting. In addition, all CEHS-sponsored panels will need to demonstrate gender diversity.
- Send your panel proposal to CEHS’s executive director, Anthony Steinhoff (executivedirector@centraleuropeanhistory.org).
If your panel has been accepted by the AHA Program Committee and you would like CEHS to co-sponsor it, simply email a copy of the final AHA panel proposal to CEHS (executivedirector@centraleuropeanhistory.org).
All sponsorship proposals will be reviewed by the CEHS executive board. Panel organizers will be informed of the status of their request by June 1, 2025. If you have questions regarding sponsorship or a prospective panel proposal, please direct them to Anthony Steinhoff (executivedirector@centraleuropeanhistory.org).
