Proposals are being accepted until January 15, 2026 for an innovative, international conference dedicated to the history of the Habsburg consuls and consulates that will be held in Vienna in June 2026. The organizers invite contributions that examine the institution, personnel, and practices of Habsburg consuls in relation to the local and foreign dimensions of Habsburg internationalism from the inception of imperial consuls in the eighteenth century into the postimperial period that extended into First Republic Austria. They particularly encourage submissions that explore the role of Austrian consuls and consulates in the United States. To read the full CFP, please click here.
